*My products appear separated; is this normal?
Due to the nature of the ingredients of the products, there is a natural separation that can occur due to the different properties of the ingredients. This is completely normal and a gentle shake or stirring of the product will incorporate the ingredients back together. This does not affect the efficiency of the products. Same with a product that melts slightly and then hardens.
*What’s the difference between a serum and a moisturizer?
Serums are formulated with smaller molecules so they are able to penetrate deeper into the skin. They are made with performance ingredients, such as antioxidants, vitamins, lipids, etc. that cause the actual change in the skin and are concentrated to target specific skin conditions. Serums are the powerhouse in any skin care routine, and they just feel so good!
Moisturizers are formulated to add moisture to the skin and protect skin from the elements. They nourish through ingredients and balance the oil-water content of the skin. Creams, lotions, hydrators are all referred to as moisturizers and can be water-based or oil-based. Often, they contain sunscreen. They are an invaluable part of any skin care routine. When using these products, it’s important to use them in the correct order. After cleansing or rinsing your face, you’ll want to use your serum first, since it has the smallest molecules and can work its magic! Then apply your moisturizer to seal in the moisture and create a barrier of protection. All skin types can benefit from using both!
